Role Play

As Abby's vocabulary is increasing, her role plays are becoming much more advanced than, "Hi, Duck. Hi, Snow White. Hi, Duck. Hi, Snow White" On Sunday she had a rough time in the nursery and we ended up getting paged part way through church. That night in the bathtub she repeatedly put her little plastic princess on the side of the tub and told her, "be right back, k?" When I asked her where she was going she stated, "Sunday school". Traumatized? The princess was also put to bed and said, "I wuv you too". One of Abby's favorite things to do is when we walk down to the student coffee shop and buy a snack and eat it in the "big" chairs. She has become rather obsessed with the coffee shop and now every time I ask her if she wants a snack she replies, "Coffee shop?" The other day I overheard Mickey Mouse telling Pooh Bear, "Coffee Shop - let's go!" At tea parties, Snow White and baby doll are fed pot pies - what else? And tonight in the bathtub, the plastic princess was rescued from the tower by the walrus who carried her down to safety.

She's so adorable! I love this stage where the role playing imitates life. It's fun to see your world through their eyes.
