In puke, that is. Almost 2 weeks ago, Abby came down with an ear infection. She also decided she no longer liked going to bed and would scream hysterically when we tried putting her down. That is part of what made me take her to the doctor to have her ears checked. So, knowing her ears hurt I rocked her to sleep for a few nights. But, after the medicine should have been kicking in, she still became hysterical at bed time and started throwing up. She upchucked about 6 or 7 nights in the last week and a half (I lost track!). On the verge of an emotional breakdown I took her to the doctor yesterday to see if there was anything else wrong. I didn't think there was since after throwing up she would get all happy and run around the house playing while I cleaned up. Or there was the night she tried to help clean up and then for some random reason decided I needed the dirty puke-soaked rags draped across my back as I was still working on the carpet. How precious. The doc confirmed that this was just behavior and sent me on my not-so-merry way. I have absolutely no idea how to deal with this - give in at bedtime and end up with a child who can manipulate her way, or not give in and continue cleaning slimy white chunks out of my carpet (and hair) every night not to mention I'm not comfortable letting Abby cry that hard. But God uses those times when I have nothing left to do to remind me that He is, well, God and it might be best to give it over to Him. Our pastor spoke on Sunday about how we serve the God who can do the impossible - good timing. Yesterday my coworkers gathered around us in prayer and last night and tonight have been puke and cry free! Can I get an AMEN?! So, I know I'm behind on blogging once again, but I've kind of been busy. And, I know these pictures are fall and that is so yesterday, but I really want to share them because I think they are just so cute :) Oh, and I should mention, that Eugene has been right there with me cleaning up - he's a great husband, remember?"Helping" me make a fall display outside our door.
Abby had a particular fondness for this one pumpkin and kept bringing it inside. Apparently it was too cold for it outside.
