Every fall I see those pie pumpkins in the store and think how fun that would be to try and make pie from scratch. This year I did it and had a blast. I don't remember the last time I dug my hands into pumpkin goop, roasted pumpkin seeds and made the house stink! There are currently two pies cooling on my table. Now comes the dilemma - do I taste a piece? In my cookbook pies are not listed under desserts, they have their own section and I'm thinking it would qualify more as a vegetable. I really want to know if it tastes better than pie made with canned pumpkin. How much sugar could one little slice have? Hmmmmm.

Oh, I was thinking of giving this a go myself! Was it really all that hard? And I am with you on fall being the best season!!!
the only hard part is getting the "guts" out, but I think you can buy scoopers that would make it easier
nice work Christy! I confess...I have never made pie :( You will have to share a recipe with me! Love Abby's coat!
Okay so i just remember that I have made a pie...with my mom :) So my confession is "I have never made a pie by myself!" thats all! :)
Hey Christie! I think you should just try a piece of pie and see what it does. You can't let your pie go to waste! Also, you can't let Eugene eat all of it in front of you! I am impressed with your pie skills and feel free when you come down to Sacramento to visit the in-laws to come over and bake with me!
