This week we are transitioning to cloth diapers - the plain old fashioned kind. I read that one baby will go through one ton of disposable diapers, which never decompose. So in an effort to be kind to both the earth and our checkbook, we are using cloth. I am quickly developing an appreciation for moms before the days of disposables. Are these things for real? One size for birth through two years? Abby swims in them! Diaper pins that are dull so they don't hurt baby - how do you get them through the cloth? Is it supposed to take me 30 minutes to figure out how to put one on? Needless to say, we have some learning to do :)
Happy 4th of July!
Eugene reads to Abby at bedtime
Tummy time!
After receiving the hospital bill, Eugene decided it was time for Abby to start earning her keep. Here she is ready for the RD meeting. However, before the meeting started, Daddy relented and let her take a nap instead. I'm sure she would have been great.

Christie,
My sister who is my matron of honor for the wedding does cloth diapers for her 7 month old. If you need any ideas or help with them, you could talk to her at the wedding because I know she would love to talk to you about them! She loves that she is using them. Her name is Saundra. Thanks for saving the environment by the way! Well I am excited to see you and meet Abby!!!! See you tomorrow! =)
Oh sweetie, cloth diapers have come a long way! There are so many different types and sizes and most don't require scary safety pins anymore (think snaps and velcro), I'll send you some links! It's definitely overwhelming so just take your time researching and talk to people who do it like Kathleen's siter above, in person advice and how-to is always best! Good luck, I plan on cloth diapering too eventually :o)
I LOVE THE POKEY LITTLE PUPPY!!!
I was just looking at Shalisa's blog (http://thesmithhome.blogspot.com/) and there are pics of Annora in cloth diapers so you could talk to her too, I can send you here email address if you want.
:o)
